As you know, it’s an exciting process, but it can be costly in both time and dollars. You may be eligible for up to $10,000 in Adoption Assistance from Allegion to help offset expenses.

Eligibility
You’re eligible for Adoption Assistance if:
- You work a minimum of 20 hours per week
- The adopted child is under 18 years old
- If over the age of 18, the person is physically or mentally unable to care for themselves
- If both you and your spouse work for the Company, only one can receive assistance under the Policy
Allegion's Contribution
Allegion will provide financial assistance toward qualified expenses incurred for an eligible adoption. You can be reimbursed up to $5,000 per adoption, with a lifetime maximum of $10,000. Qualified expenses include:
- Adoption fees (agency and placement fees)
- Reasonable attorney fees
- Court costs
- Reasonable travel expenses (including meals, lodging and transportation)
- Temporary foster care costs
- Immigration, immunization and translation fees
- Medical expenses of the birth mother
- Medical expenses of the child not covered by insurance
Reimbursement Process
You must request reimbursement within one year of the finalization of adoption and all eligible expenses must be submitted at one time. To request reimbursement, submit an itemized list of costs and a copy of invoices supporting each itemized cost and a copy of the final adoption decree to the U.S. Benefits Department.
